Be Bewitched is a small crocheted clothing and accessories company based out of King, NC. Erin Jay is the founder and creative director of Be Bewitched, which is named after her senior tortoiseshell cat (Bebe for short). She has been selling handmade and custom designs in the Winston-Salem area since 2021 (formerly under the name Black Forest Beauty & Gifts).
Erin started this business because she loves all things nature-inspired with a retro and dark twist. She makes crocheted clothing, jewelry, and accessories.
She creates most of her work in her woodland cottage near Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Parks. In the fall and winter, a clear view of the Blue Ridge Mountains can be seen from her kitchen window and in the spring and summer, her yard is abloom with a plethora of colorful flowers. This environment has helped her creativity and inspires her art.
Erin lives with her husband and sometimes assistant, Nick. She has an adult son named Ian who works in Texas and New Mexico. She has two cats named Bebe and Isabel, a dog named Carmen, and a snake named Fin.
